Who we are

Rudy started with one truck in 1988

His son Marco runs the shop now — 6 trucks, the same yard on Vineyard, and a lot of the same customers. Rudy still comes by on Saturdays to tell everybody they’re doing it wrong. Every tech is background-checked, drug-tested, uniformed, and carries photo ID.

  • $89 diagnostic, and we take it off the bill when you approve the repair
  • $0 overtime — nights, weekends, the Fourth of July
  • Our technicians are not paid commission

Why choose us

We Repair Before We Replace

If your system has good years left in it, we fix it and go. If it genuinely needs replacing, we’ll show you the photos and the numbers, and you’re welcome to get two more bids — we’ll still be here.

We pull the permit. Every job.

Every changeout in California legally needs a mechanical permit and a Title 24 HERS test. You get the CF-3R certificate for your file — the one the buyer’s agent asks for.

Nobody here is on commission.

Not one person in this shop makes an extra dollar by telling you something is dead. That’s the whole reason to believe the rest of this page.

Why You Should Choose Us

Text us a photo of it.

  • Written price before any panel comes off
  • Background-checked, uniformed, photo ID
  • Shoe covers on, drop cloth down

We would rather lose the call than take $89 off you for a dead thermostat battery. Run these first — it takes about ten minutes and there’s a decent chance you don’t need us at all.

1Check the breaker, then check it againFIXES IT ABOUT 1 IN 5 TIMES

Find the AC breaker in your panel and the outdoor disconnect box by the condenser. A tripped breaker often doesn't look tripped — push it fully off, then back on. If it trips again straight away, stop and call us. That's a short, and it's ours to find.

2Pull the filter out and look at itTHE SINGLE MOST COMMON CAUSE

A filter packed solid starves the system, freezes the coil, and looks exactly like a dead air conditioner. If daylight won't pass through it, replace it, then leave the system off with the fan running for two hours to thaw.

3Look at the thermostat batteriesTWO MINUTES, NO TOOLS

A blank or frozen thermostat is usually two AA batteries, not a failed system. Also check it's on COOL and set at least three degrees below the room temperature — a thermostat set at 78 in a 76 degree house is behaving correctly by doing nothing.

4Is the outdoor unit iced over?TURN IT OFF BEFORE YOU CALL — IT SAVES THE COMPRESSOR

If there's frost on the copper line or the coil, switch the system to OFF and the fan to ON, and give it a couple of hours to melt. Running it while it's frozen is how a repair turns into a compressor.

IF IT'S STILL DEAD AFTER THESE, IT'S ONE OF OURS. THE $89 COVERS FINDING OUT EXACTLY WHAT.

Our technicians are not paid commission. Nobody in this shop makes an extra dollar by telling you something is dead.

Our AC quit Saturday at five. Elena picked up on the second ring and Ramon was here by 7:40 with the part on his truck. $312 out the door — exactly the number he gave me before he started.

Marco talked me out of a new system. Said the coil had four more summers in it, fixed the capacitor for $268, and left. Anybody else would have sold me twelve grand.

Danny explained the whole thing to my mom in Spanish, put on shoe covers, and vacuumed up the old insulation. They pulled the permit too. That's the second unit they've done for our family.

Questions

The Things People Ask Before They Call

What does it cost just to have you look at it?+

$89. That covers a full diagnosis, and we take it off the bill if you have us do the repair. No trip charge, no fuel surcharge, no “service fee” added at the end.

Do you charge more at night or on a Sunday?+

No. There is no overtime charge on any job, any hour, any day of the year. If your AC dies at 8pm on a Saturday in August, it costs the same as Tuesday morning.

How soon can you get here?+

Most days, the same afternoon. If you call before noon we can usually give you a 2-hour window that day; if you call in the evening you're on the first board in the morning. Whatever we tell you on the phone is the truth — we'd rather say Thursday than say today and not show.

Do you pull the permit?+

Yes, on every changeout, and we schedule the Title 24 HERS test. You get the CF-3R certificate for your file. It's the law in California and it's the document that matters when you sell the house.

How long is the warranty?+

10 years on labor, 12 years on parts, and lifetime workmanship on anything we install. In writing, on the invoice, with the model and serial number on it.

Are you going to tell me I need a whole new system?+

Only if you do. We repair before we replace, and our technicians are not paid commission — nobody here earns more by condemning your unit. If it really is done, you get photos, a number, and the freedom to go get two more bids.
